Kelly had everything a young woman could hope for: an admirable boyfriend, a strong family unit and determination to succeed.
A few moments shattered everything. En route to a friend’s house, Kelly was raped. Weeks later, she is horrified when she learns the result of her pregnancy test. Debating the best course of action, she’s forced to face her greatest fear as she explores long-held desires of her heart and soul.
When life seemed to have settled into a normal routine, a surprise encounter with her rapist changes her life forever. After apologizing, he strives to reconcile the past and win Kelly’s heart.
Tragedy strikes. Hearts are broken. Lives are shattered. In attempting to move forward, Kelly makes a decision which affects everyone who knows and loves her – a decision which begins her descent into a worse hell than she’d known.
“The author does a wonderfully convincing job of creating a believable background, in terms of Kelly’s tragic, challenging circumstances – which enables the rest of the plot to unfold in an organic, yet powerful manner.” ~ Steph Coleman–Goodreads; Barnes & Noble; Indie Book Reviewers (5 stars)
“I darn near gobbled the whole book down in just a few evenings and was totally hooked … after the dark tunnel there is a light at the end and, while this book will haunt me for a long time, it’ll be in a good way. ~ Darlene Cupp–Indie Book Reviewers; Goodreads; Barnes & Noble (5 stars)

“I was impressed with Norma Budden’s passionate and emotional writing style and her attention to character detail. I really felt transported to Kelly’s life, head and heart, for better or worse.” ~ Gillian Hancock– Goodreads; Barnes & Noble; Indie Book Reviewers (4 stars)
“I liked Norma Budden’s literary style, and you can tell the subject matter is close to her heart. She writes with dignity and compassion, yet it is gritty and raw and real. A book that will take you through ‘hell,’ but there is hope on the other side.” ~ Layla Messing – Goodreads; Barnes & Noble; Indie Book Reviewers (4.5 stars)
“It is such a wonderfully addictive novel, and I love how Norma Budden writes… it all felt so believable and authentic; intimate, like a close friend was telling me this really amazing, beautiful, horrible, emotional, tragic story that I didn’t want to stop listening to.” ~ Marcella Gonzales– Goodreads; Barnes & Noble; Indie Book Reviewers (5 stars)
“Coming Unglued is an Emotional Journey by Dee Fleischman”
As I began to read “Coming Unglued” the story of a young woman’s journey into the world of emotional and physical abuse as written by Norma Budden,I became entwined with this young woman, Kelly and her thoughts, feelings and experiences. I have never had to live through any of these terrible times that Kelly did, but I felt for her. The one God given thing I have been given in my life is compassion for others and I had compassion for Kelly and her daughter as I read this touching story. As the young woman, the victim of a rape, I felt for her and wanted to protect and care for her just as her friend Annette did. I was afraid for her and felt myself feeling as though I was looking over my shoulder and wanting to keep Kelly safe. As this story takes an unexpected turn I again felt myself feeling as Kelly did, to my surprise. I am not going to reveal all the twist and turns of this story as it would ruin it for anyone who is interested in reading it. All I can say is your attention will be held and your emotions will be at a high pitch. I actually had to put the book down twice because of tears, until I could get a grip on my own feelings. This is a very emotional story which takes many turns you will not expect. There are lessons to be learned as Kelly takes her journey not knowing where it is going to lead her. There are many forms of abuse in life and most of us are touched by some form in our lifetime. This young woman was faced with more than her share of abuse and handled much of it with a forgiveness deep from within her soul that most of us could not or would not be able to handle. Forgivness will set you free if you are strong enough to truly forgive. Believe me , you will not be sorry if you pick this book to read and emerce yourself into the story and the people involved. It will touch your very soul and teach a valuable lesson as you take deep breaths to make your way through this emotional book. You will feel you are standing on the outskirts of Kellys life and trying to help her make the right decisions or rush in and help this young woman to be safe. You will be reading through your own tears as your feelings take over. Get ready to enjoy many good times, bad times, emotional times and meet some wonderful people in this book. You will not be sorry you picked this one. Keep your kleenex handy as I don’t think you will be able to get through this book without them. Another great job by Norma Budden in getting us to know and feel the people involved in this story. This is not just another story, it is an emotional journey!!
