This book is a personal testimony of the life of Michael Higgins, founder of Jesus Loves You Love Him Back feeding ministry, based in Orlando, Florida. It chronicles Higgins’ life from three different perspectives—before he started using cocaine, to the 23 years he suffered under its soul-shredding spell (losing everything dear to him in the process), to that glorious moment when God miraculously delivered him from the bondage of drug addiction and many other vices that had consumed him.
It also chronicles Jesus Loves You Love Him Back feeding ministry, which God entrusted to him after he was finally clean and sober. What began in 2009, with feeding 25 homeless folks in downtown Orlando, has since mushroomed into feeding 250,000 meals, spanning four countries so far…and counting…
After receiving their 501c3 early in 2014, Jesus Loves You Love Him Back feed-ing ministry now feeds the homeless once a month in Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Miami Florida. They have also done feedings in Philadelphia, PA., New York City, New Orleans, LA. Nashville, TN. Chicago, IL., Las Vegas, NV, Los Angeles, CA., Cancun, Mexico, various locations in Brazil and the Philippines.
“To God goes all the praise indeed! by E. Eblin”
I discovered this book after reading multiple books by Patrick Higgins. I was on his author page on Amazon when I read a brief sentence he wrote about this book. I just adore all of his books, so I had to see what wonderful literary creation his twin brother wrote. I dove in and began reading…
I’ll start by saying this is not a typical book for me to read. Yet something kept telling me to keep reading. I think the challenges Michael Higgins was able to overcome through his acceptance of Jesus are amazing. I say this because, as a recovering drug addict and alcoholic I know what he went through.
Yes, this is a book that “shoves God down your throat” – as it should be. The entire point of the book is another way to hear Michael Higgins testimony. It is another way to win souls for Christ. So I believe some shoving is in order! If you complain it is “preachy” then you miss the point entirely.
If you are able to read this book and still not accept Christ as your personal Savior I am shocked. Not just because of Michael’s testimony, but every single Bible verse he uses, every little bit that he digs into a verses meaning, it all points straight to God the Father, and His Son that died a horrible death on the cross for each one of us. Everything is spelled out in a way that everyone can understand. There is no room for misconstruing what is writing. There is no space to question. Spelled out in clear English for all to see.
I am amazed that every single person who’s been a witness to Michael Higgins speak hasn’t accepted Jesus into their hearts. It is blatantly obvious where his passion lays.
God bless the author, and all who walk beside him in ministry. The work maybe hard, but definitely is fulfilling. Thank you, Mr. Higgins, for taking the time to write this book.
