Joshua and Amanda Brodrick, brother and sister, grow up in an affluent family, terrorized by an abusive father and a defenceless mother. As they struggle to survive, they long for escape, stability, and love–they find that solace in one another. Eventually living on their own, the two seem to have everything they ever needed.
But their wrongful union produces a child born with hideous deformities, and Amanda and Joshua’s lives take an unexpected turn.
Darkness shades the strange goings on in the Brodrick mansion, as the family begins to live a nocturnal life.
Amanda will do whatever it takes to keep their secrets hidden from the rest of the world. Even if it means shutting that world out for decades.
But secrets can’t be hidden forever. And the world will eventually discover the biggest secret of all:
Who is Luthor
“You’ll Want the Whole Story!”This book is a must read! I was surprised that I fell so deeply into this book. It isn’t the type of novel that fits into my favorite generas. But this book is so descriptively written with such imaginative story telling that I couldn’t help but to get lost in the pages, having to read “just one more page”.
My emotions were on a constant roller coaster; I was sad, shocked, angry, in love and all alone. I knew joy and sorrow with these characters. I felt each of the triumphs, fears, and sorrows most of the characters felt right as they felt them. It really is that easy to become part of Luthor’s world.
There is a taboo love affair in the story, but it is so crucial to the telling. It is a result of horrors and abandonment as might happen with any human being. When reading the novel, this affair seems to be a natural progression.
Please be open enough to give this book a try. There is an underlying message about human nature, what love truly means and where real beauty lies. It speaks volumes on our intolerance and fears and proves that by watching evil happen and doing nothing, one is just as guilty as those who are actively evil.
