When Social Worker Stephanie Wilson attends a conference and meets a former colleague, she has no idea her life is about to change. Grieving from the death of her policeman husband four years previously, Steph has thrown all her energies into her growing family, the business she and her late husband developed and renovating a disused lighthouse. Acting out of character Steph embarks on a whirlwind romance with Joe McDonald which has far-reaching and tragic consequences for her, her family and friends.
Joe has been in a loveless relationship for some years, he begins divorce proceedings against his wife, this sets of a chain of events which none of them have control over.
Steph and Joe’s happiest times are those spent with their family and their lives are lived within a tight group of close friends and relations. When these relationships are tested out by unfolding events the very fabric of their lives threatens to explode and destroy them all.
Set against the backdrop of the Ayrshire coast, this story examines family dynamics and friendships which are stretched and tested to the limit. Can they ever recover? Will relationships within this close family group ever be the same again?
“Another Excellent Book by I K McLellan“
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in one go. It is quite different from the first three books and I enjoyed it as much, maybe even more, than them. Looking forward to the next one.
